Hello

Jhooks is moving forward with MWRender refactoring task, meanwhile fighting physics bugs. Well, the fight was successful thanks to common effort of developers. Sadly refactoring starts to be harder since the easier part is done.

GUS is still doing journal task, although “journal task” name does not gives really right feeling about what it is. Besides journal the code should be useful for books, since books are quite similar to the journal ─ both parses text and displays it in pages. Difference is mostly related to extra journal stuff, like index and disallowing to break entry on two pages.

Everything fine here 2011-10-23 - sir_herrbatka

Hello!

jHooks finished his vertex morphing and wants to merge his animations into master branch, but then there is a problem: mwrender refactoring is not finished. Even more, it’s not moving forward. But then the task was reassigned to jhooks himself and mwrender refactoring is progressing again.

Jhooks is my hero. Seriously.

And GUS is working on journal, even if He did not commit any code yet that’s just because it’s still messy. Do you try to taste unfinished cake?

Yes, I know that you do. Don’t even try to lie.

openmw.org alive and kicking! 2011-10-16 - sir_herrbatka

Well, our page was down for a moment. The reason was RAID failure but since Lgro do backups frequently We did not lose nothing besides uptime.

And what’s up?

jhooks started doing vertex morphing (needed for facial animations and few other, minor animations), GUS is doing journal task. It’s nice to have Yacoby on board to! He used to be a big time moder and also He is the man behind orginal openmw terrain rendering. Although His time is limited It’s just nice to know that He is supporting our project.

Jhooks is excited again… He finally figured out how to fix the death animations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(1!1!111!11111). And the positioning works now properly (previously every one was placed above the ground). Videos can be found on our wiki, media section (that dark, abandoned place where until now only videos from nicolay openmw dwell).

Zini is doing his refactoring, spreading the word about proper coding meanwhile. If you are coder you should care.

And GUS wants to start journal task next week. That would be very good (to not say awesome) since we have a little problem with lack of gui features that looks good on screens and screencasts.

And that’s pretty much everything I’m afraid.

We are here. 2011-10-02 - sir_herrbatka

… and we have *.deb packages! Thank you BrotherBrick! At the moment I can’t see them under downloads section but this is probably a matter of time. This packages where build for 32 and 64 bits ubuntu.

And jhooks found the major problem behind poor performance of animations? Animations runs, faster reaching the openmw standard (read as “runs still slow but not so terrible slow as before”)

Zini finished both 0.12.0 tasks that was reserved for him. Doing 200% while other developers slips away makes him almost heroic. Well, now zini is doing code maintaining stuff in the engine class.

Bullet performance. Although k1ll problems where caused by bug in the bullet itself GUS found idea to increase physics performance? I’m not sure if we will get better FPS since this is probably not a bottleneck now. At least It may help in future to speed rendering up.
