Hello! I am developer, though not a game developer. I have played around with Unity a bit, but nothing beyond make a Breakout type game. I've also made all of one game mod in my entire life, though it was for Morrowind. You can see it here: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/42836
Having said that, I've been a developer since 1994 and have long experience with Linux systems, and I am hoping that I can contribute something to this project. In fact, I've already submitted a small merge request. When I built and launched the game tonight the launcher failed because the config directory did not exist. I wrote a patch to create the directory if it doesn't exist.

Merge request: https://gitlab.com/OpenMW/openmw/-/merge_requests/1735
In any event, I'll be spending time looking at the beginner issues and getting to know the code base over the next week and I hope that I can be useful. This is exactly the kind of project I have always dreamed of working on and quite frankly I could use the distraction from my day job - writing billing and provisioning code for webhosting companies pays well, but it's the most boring thing I can think of.

Welcome board!
I see you've pretty much found your way, which is great.
If you need anything, just ask.
If you have unity experience, then perhaps a fresh perspective on our OpenMW-CS project might interest you?
